Fabulous Friday

Most of us girlies grew up playing with Barbie, (well, some really liked Ken, anyway, another story for another time) in all of her fabulousness and funky fun. The Barbie Dream House, The Camper, The townhouse, Ballet Bags, Bedding, clothes and so so many many other awesome goodies adorned with the Barbie brand.

Well...let me just say, when I came across this at New York Fashion week, I just about died. These are real life Barbies...dressed in real life clothes!! It is surreal to see the likeness to the actual doll, the hair, the makeup...uncanny!!!

6 days until School begins!!

In preparation for the new school year, we are given a list by the new teacher for September at the conclusion of the school year in June. Years ago when my daughter went to Elementary school, the list was considerably shorter. This new list consists of items such as Kleenex and Paper Towels, crazy that we have to provide these now. I guess if we want them to have something other than their sleeves to wipe their noses when they sneeze...

Lets just say that we have not made a dent in this new list.

As my son is not the most organized or neat dude around, we will have to replenish this cache several times throughout the year. I check his pencil case frequently and notice that by the end of a week, he has gone through (can you say lost) many items and we will have to restock constantly. I'd say some of this stuff will last maybe until mid October.



We still have to get a new backpack, shoes, more supplies and don't forget the newest most stylish whatever is of the moment!!

My son will be starting Grade 8 this year. His school is K - 8, so he will be in the Graduating class this year...very exciting...where does the time go!!

He does have his new lock already and has been practicing his combination, he does not want to be standing in front of his locker and thinking 'what the heck is my combo'. He has enough to worry about just getting to class and finding the required items for said class, nevermind being burdened by the locker not opening!

I know he will have a fantastic year as all of his classmates and himself are so looking forward to the year end trip and the many graduation events. I know, the school year has not yet begun and he is talking about June already!!!

My thoughts turn to fall as the new school year approaches and that means cozy sweaters and colored leaves and long walks with a thermos of hot chocolate. I love fall and all of the goodies associated with it.

Tuesday Tidbits .......

Hi there, how are you doin today !!!!

I'd show you a few of the things that
have been keeping me busy recently.

I participated in 'The Summer Hair Accessories Swap'
with Heather from 'Speckled Egg'

Look what the mailman left me

We made six hair accessories, all the same or different...
....your choice
Heather received them all and distributed
6 various goodies to all of the swap participants

What a fabulous assortment of eye candy
or
should I say hair candy !!

Originally, I had made these cuties, unfortunately
they were lost in the mail...seriously crazy,

This is the second batch of goodies that I sent out,
with the hope that they would make it safely to Heather...
...they did...whoohoo!!

If they don't want to wear these in their hair,
they can pin them on anything
their little heart desires, tops, purses....so versatile
...I really liked these and they were fun to make

I also participated with Sarah from
'GypsyMermaidLife' as our host
in the 'Vintage Spooky Tag Swap'

For this swap we had to make
13 tags...same or different,
when she receives them,
Sarah will bind them all together
and send us 13 assorted tags...
...so excited to receive them as this was
my first attempt at making tags..
...so so much fun...
...love this crafting thing...its awesome!!!

I also attempted to put together my first scrapbook layout.
This is a picture of my daughter when she was quite young,
(she is 22 now)
I think is turned out pretty cute, this will give me
the motivation to really get in there
and find my own style
