5 Earth Day Tweeks we all must do
I know that we should not have a special day
for this
but I guess
one day to raise awareness
is a start
Today
is
EARTH DAY
Plant a tree
Make a pillow and stuff it with plastic bags
to use in your outdoor space
Eat less beef to lower carbon fuels
not to mention you will live longer as your
body will not have work
so hard to digest this protein
Shop local to cut down on gas emissions
as well as allow the farmers in your
neighbourhood to feed their loved ones
Take public transportation or carpool once a week
This is a small sampling of little tweeks that you
can do to make a solid impact
so that the planet will be around
for the next generation
to love and flourish in
~~
What are you doing to save
the Planet today?

Well, I haven't really thought about it, but I eat almost a vegetarian diet, though I have slipped some of late. When I go to other people's houses, I eat what they serve. I eat organic when possible. But there are some things I could do to improve my habits. How's this? I have taken to re-gifting some things I treasure back to the children and grandchildren of a close friend. She gave me the things so they have sentimental meaning. And I guess that is a form of recycling. Plus, I have always bought antiques or things that are sold at antique shops even if the thing isn't a true antique, and I shop on eBay and other places. No sense all of that wonderful china out there not being recycled into the magpie nest. ;-)

Hi Sheila,
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting, my hearts and prayers are also with the victims of the bombing in Boston. The steps that you are taking are wonderful, I also thrift, and recycle as well as attempt to shop local. I do not eat much beef so I try and get needed protein that from veggies and grains.
Have a great week sweetie!
excellent ideas dear Narina
ReplyDeleteGreat list! I especially like planting a tree idea! xo
ReplyDeleteYou might get an "all-in-one" device with fat stack at Kmart
ReplyDeleteor Wal-Mart for under $300.

Great tips! I'm also trying to use more tea towels in place of paper towels.
