Farewell Vintage Black Friday!!
~
Life has been crazy lately, so I thought that I would share
Black Friday madness of yesteryear!!
Travelling to the centre of town.
I Love how they crafted all of these
train cars out of wood...oh those were the days!!
The conductor looks as if he
really cares about the passengers!
How elegant and relaxed
the shopping experience was
.....individual attention, gift wrapped (free of charge),
exquisite cabinetry and fine quality fabrics
were a natural part of everyday life.

Thank you so much Jill for taking us on this
incredible Vintage Visual Journey,
it was so much fun & I am sad to see it coming to an end!!
Enjoy the rest of the day everyone!
Hugs xOxO Nerina :)
I remember as a very small girl my mother taking me "downtown" to a few of the very elegant ladies clothing stores where the experience was certainly nothing like today. Where attention to detail and courtesy were so very important. Love that photo with the saleslady showing the lovely slip. Brings back some memories. I'm sad too, to see VBF finito, but it sure has been fun!
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful weekend!

I love your post. I think back each year how I would get up early and hit the stores and shop all day. Well that was a long time ago. Have a great VBF and a great Black Friday...julie
ReplyDeletelove these pics -- thanks for the memories!
ReplyDeleteOh, my, those were THE DAYS! When I was on jury duty a few weeks back as we got into the elevator, I said something to the effect, lingerie, 3rd floor, linens 4th floor and only a couple of people understood what I was meaning . . . elevator attendants, washroom attendants, theater attendants etc . . all things of the past!!
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful day!
Hugs,
Marsha
A lovely way to say goodbye to Vintage Black Friday, have a great day!
ReplyDeleteGreat post and blog...hope we can still visit each other...
ReplyDeleteHAPPY VBF...
I so miss those days - I remember going to Downtown Detroit to Hudson's to spend the day Christmas shopping and visiting Santa's wonderland. The elevators had an attendant, the escalators were made of gorgeous wood. It just isn't like that anymore. And, sadly, Hudson's is gone. Wonderful post.
ReplyDeleteHappy VBF!
Oh Tartar sauce. What am I gonna do on Fridays now?
ReplyDeleteI know, I know, I am a HORRIBLE BFF! I had to stop by and wish my sparkly pink friend the best. Hope you are doing well. I am going insane, but that's another story!!! Lots of love, deb
