Welcome to Pink Saturday Friends !!
It is the 5th of December today
and we have yet to see any Snow
The outdoor lights are up and our home
is 'almost' completely decorated for the Holidays.

A little task for this week is to share a childhood holiday memory, I most vividly remember tons of food lovingly prepared by my Mother for her brood of 6 children and eventually 14 grandchildren as well as spouses, a full 'very busy and noisy' house for sure. Her home was always filled with the scents of homemade everything...wonderful baked goods from scratch, decorations, presents wrapped with tons of love and care. My Mom would always be up until the wee hours of the morning on Christmas Eve wrapping those last few gifts. She has passed this on to me, unbeknownst to her, as I have many many years been up until 4:00 am carefully wrapping (the procrastinator in me) before Santa arrives. Now that I think back, she really gave her heart and soul so that her children would enjoy not only Christmas, but each and every day of the year!!
Thanks Mom, we love you!!

So now, my thoughts have turned
to wrapping gifts for Christmas.
I love the pinks this year
and while browsing Flickr
came across these
lovely packages from 'Such Pretty Things'.
These vintage stamens are so pretty
when placed together as a bow
She has a tutorial to make these charming
Vintage Hostess Gifts...I know I sure would love
to recieve such a pretty present!!

Please take some time today
and visit Beverly of How Sweet the Sound
our hostess for this
fabulous Pink Saturday Party
to renew your love of Pink.

Have a great weekend!!

Happy Pink Saturday! What beautiful packages! Thanks for the link. I visited her site and the tutorial was helpful. I too love to wrap gifts, so this gave me some great ideas and inspiration. YOUR HOUSE IS ALREADY DECORATED!!! Are you an overacheiver (said with a tone of admiration)? I still have boxes in the foyer, and a undecorated tree and pumpkins on my porch. But it is decorating day 4 so I hope to take care of that today!
ReplyDeleteYour blog is beautiful, and it was lovely to visit you.

Aren't moms just the greatest. You are certainly carrying on the tradition that you grew up with and that is so perfect for the holidays. There is no other time during the year that you would so loveling sacrifice your sleep for a joyous Christmas. Happy Pink Saturday Nerina and thankyou for the memories, I loved them, Char
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful post, I enjoyed it so much. Thanks for sharing and thanks for stopping by mine.

I'd be afraid to open a pretty box like one of those. It would be like desecrating art. Like when I saw the Acropolis in Athens, and spray-painted my name on it...

Happy Pink Saturday. I must be a procrastinator too because I am always up late on Christmas eve wrapping presents!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful wrappings! We owe so many wonderful memories to our parents and all the wonderful things they did for us at Christmas, don't we? Happy Pink Saturday!

ReplyDeleteI still love the hustle and bustle of Christmas and look forward to all the craziness too! Those packages are simply gorgeous-almost too pretty to unwrap. Thanks for visiting me and yes, we did have so much fun with all the plays even though I'm sure there were some arguments too! Hope you have a wonderful pink week!
ReplyDeleteI recall food being a big part of Christmas too. My grandmother would cook and bake all day and we would have the most wonderful pies. Love your pinks for the day. Pink Blessings!

ReplyDeleteHappy Pink Saturday, Nerina.
ReplyDeleteWhat fun it must have been to celebrate Christmas in your home with so much family. I am an only child, but I was blessed with wonderful parents that made Christmas special, too.
