A sweet little Vintage 50s bouffant

with a pale pink cashmere sweater...don't ya think

Even Mini Mouse can't resist the urge

to join in the costuming fun

and be a little bit naughty as a pink witch on this day!!

I love how this little pink Jack-O-Lantern he makes me smile

It just would not be the Halloween
without some treats to share

Enjoy a Goulish Evening!!!

Welcome to Vintage Black Friday !

by , in

Thank you to Jill at Gypsy Brocante for coming up with

this fun idea to show off our Vintage Black goodies

running every Friday until November 27th,

so you still have time to show off your eye candy

What brings to mind Vintage more than a timeless vehicle.

Cars were a showpiece and made with materials

that were built to stand the test of time.

I find that the badges

from these treasures were real pieces of art.

The FORD Motor Company

A beautiful two-toned Cutlass

The Classis Corvette

Who does not remember the scene

from 'American Graffiti' where Suzanne Somers

waves from a Classic Thunderbird

Every guy I know wanted a GTO

A European Sports Car....oh la la

And last, but certainly not least,

a shout out to my buddy Kurt at 'Some Things I have Learned'

with an antique Indian Motorcycle...she's a beauty

Happy Vintage Black Friday everyone!!

Sweet Rednesday !!

by , in
Welcome to Rednesday,
please visit Sue at 'A Very Cherry World'
to see many more Red Delights

Red, White and Blue Bark

1 package (14 ounces) White Candy Melts
1 package (14 ounces) Red Candy Melts
1 package (14 ounces) Blue Candy Melts
Cinnamon drop sprinkles or crushed peppermint pinwheel candies
Line cookie pan with parchment paper.
Melt each package of Candy Melts following package instructions. Spoon candy into prepared pan distributing colors randomly. Tap pan on counter to remove air bubbles; with spoon or butter knife, marble candy in pan. Sprinkle with cinnamon drops or crushed peppermint candies. Chill until firm, about 10 minutes.
Remove parchment from pan; break candy into smaller serving pieces.
Serves Each piece serves 1

Fire Red Candy Apples

8 medium apples, green or red
2 3/4 cup(s) sugar
1 1/4 cup(s) light corn syrup
1 1/2 cup(s) water
1 teaspoon(s) vanilla
15 drops red food coloring
Wash and dry apples, remove stems and insert a wooden stick into the bottom (not stem end) of the apples; approximately 2/3 of the way into the apple. Set apples aside.
In saucepan, combine sugar, corn syrup and water. Heat slowly on low heat, stirring constantly. Once mixture starts to boil, stop stirring and leave boiling until candy mixture reaches 300°F on a candy thermometer, or until a small amount of mixture dropped into cold water separates into breakable threads.
Remove from heat and stir in food coloring. Wait until mixture stops bubbling, then add vanilla, mix well.
Dip each apple into the mixture while mixture is still hot, swirl to cover apple evenly. You will need to work fast to get all the apples dipped before mixture becomes too hard.
Place dipped apple on greased cookie sheet or greased wax paper.

Oh my gosh...Very Cherry Double Bubble Gumballs

What does your sweet tooth

crave right now ????

Happy Pink Saturday !!

by , in
Welcome and thank you for taking the time
to visit me on this wonderful Pink Saturday!!

Thank you to our lovely
Hostess Beverly of 'How Sweet the Sound'
for bringing this fabulous group of
Pinkalicious goodness together in one place.

Do you know what I miss these days

....I miss the Movie Stars, the Screen Goddesses

Not the Actors of today...
but the real on screen starlettes,
I miss the clothing
and the filters on the cameras
that made everything look so dreamy

The glamorous women that would
light up the screen
with their beauty as well as their brains,
some with a little more sass than others

How many of these beauties do you remember???

Grace Kelly and Cary Grant in 'To Catch a Thief'

Natalie Wood

Doris Day and Rock Hudson in 'Pillow Talk'

Elizabeth Taylor

Ann Margaret and Elvis in 'Viva Las Vegas'

Candice Bergen

Kim Novak and William Holden in 'PICNIC'

Sophia Loren

Marilyn Monroe

Jane Fonda as 'Barbarella'

Make some great memories today!!!

Welcome to Vintage Black Friday !!

Thank you so much to Jill from Gypsy Brocante
for hosting this fun Vintage Black Friday Party!!
So much more to see and enjoy
and it's only a click away!!

Before there were chain stores to purchase our clothes,
most of the simple act of creating
or caring for our family was done in the home.

I love the look of vintage sewing machines.
The elegant sweep of the frame
coupled with the delicate gold lettering
from The Singer Sewing Co.

Love the wrought iron of the treadle foot

The exquisite detail in the gold painting
makes this almost a work of art

This gorgeous 50s Emma Domb prom dress
with Spanish lace and ruffles
really puts you in the mood
to dance the night away!!

Add these charming lace shoes

and scrumptious black shell beaded evening bag
and you are all set

Enjoy your Friday everyone....do something

that makes you smile today :)

Thankful Thursday !!

by , in

Hey there,

Hope this day brings
much happiness and good fortune your way!!

I took part in
Aunt Pitty Pat's
'Spooks Rattles Pots & Pans Apron Swap'
got that, it's quite a mouthful.

I was fortunate to have Debbie from
'Little Red Said' as my swap partner.
Please go and visit her,
lovely pictures of the Canadian wilderness
and yummy recipes!!

She is from the West coast of Canada,
where the weather is still like summer.

I received this in the mail the other day

This is the cutest Apron

I also was spoiled with chocolate
and an assortment of flavoured Teas,
a recipe for 'Chocolate Chip Pumpkin Cookies'
that I can't wait to try,
as well a couple of flavored drink mixes
and a lovely 'Pink' notebook.

Debbie's workmanship is spectacular!!

Thanks so much Debbie...I love it all!!!

Look at this adorable
embroidered Spider with ricrac legs....eeek!!
I love the fabric, it looks like a lace overlay,
but it is the actual fabric pattern....it is really nice!!

In my first attempt at sewing an apron
...sorry Debbie to use you as a guinea pig,
I think it turned out cute and is pretty whimsical!!

I have not sewn in many years and this was really fun
I love that it is Halloween themed
and that made it much easier to design.

I added a festive pumpkin tin
to display her Halloween goodies
as well as a Spooky tealight holder!!

This is the pocket that has a little witchie poo
with a bow embellie and a few Yo-Yos for added color,
cause it is so subtle now.
I hope you like it Debbie,
she can turn it around
and wear the white side
which is just plain muslin if she wishes!!

Well...this is my 100th post,
I will be getting together a giveaway this weekend,
hope to see you then!!!!

Have a great Thursday everyone!!

Happy Pink Saturday !!

by , in
How about a Pink Sugar Rush!!

Visit Beverly at 'How Sweet the Sound'
our hostess for this
Pink Saturday Eye Candy Celebration

I love watching the sugar just explode
and become like a silk web.
Then they wind it around on the folded paper cone,
next thing you know...your fingers are all sticky
and your lips are stuck together
and your tummy is sayin' what the heck is goin on!!!!!

But, if you are in a rush,
you can just grab it in a bag for later....
...when you have a wetwipe
or are close to running water...for clean up...you know!!

I love the feel of these candy corn
when you pop a bunch in your mouth
and you can feel them becoming one
when you start to chew.......Sweeeeeet!!!

This is candy you can play with,
break it and make letters,
build little structures,
place on tongue and just let it melt

These little lovelies are
the first dipping before the chocolate ......

then you can't wait to break it open,
or you can just hold it in your mouth
until all of the layers dissolve
and taste each one separately...

...I think I'm going to die!!!!

Always have candy at the ready....
....just pull on your necklace and bite one off, or two

Don't these rock candy sticks
look fabulous, so sparkly and all,
they taste great too

Love love Good & Plenty
Lay them on your tongue
and wait until you taste the licorice...OMG!!

Finally, last but by no means least, Licorice Allsorts.
I always sorted the Pink and Black ones out
because I thought they tasted divine.
Loved to build stacks with the square layers
and them squish them between my fingers
and then shove them in my mouth....geez...I love candy!!!

This my friends is why I have so many cavities!!!

Well worth it I tell ya, well worth it!!!

Have a fabulous Pink Saturday everyone!!
Enjoy some candy today...what the heck...Everyday!!

Hugs xOxO Nerina :)
